Greystead Old Church

Greystead Old Church is a stunning, architect-designed conversion of an early 19th-century, Grade II listed, former Georgian church in the heart of the North Tyne Valley, just yards from the banks of the North Tyne river, and only 4 miles from Kielder Water.

Lovingly and sympathetically restored in 2013, the Old Church is luxuriously furnished and appointed with antiques, oriental rugs, and top-range appliances and bedding to provide holiday accommodation of an exceptional standard. This inspirational conversion contains many striking original features, which include a fully-restored Victorian stained glass window, together with colourful Victorian tiles, Georgian-Gothic archway, exposed stonework and flagstones and period panelling. These combine with the eco-friendly heating via a bio-mass boiler to create an exceptional conversion. The Church Tower has re-opened after full restoration in October 2023, with a specially commissioned spiral staircase leading to a stunning viewing platform at the top of the tower.

This well-established holiday home is a proud winner of several awards, including a Visit England ROSE Award and a Visit England 5-Star Gold Award, making it an exceptional destination for visitors seeking both comfort and heritage.

We had a fantastic holiday in the Church. It is amazing!! Recommended by a friend and knew it would be lovely, but the renovation is outstanding. Church is so comfortable and warm, the facilities are amazing. The kitchen is out of this world, felt like Mary Berry! The rooms are done to an exceptional standard. It has to be seen to be believed. What an experience!
