Kielder Water
The huge reservoir is a beautiful place to satisfy those fishing needs. Hire a boat and explore over 2000 acres of water – you could just about pick a different spot to fish every time you visit! Two popular spots are Belling Inlet and Plashett’s Bay as they are good at any time in the season. Here at Kielder you can also enjoy some bank fishing, popular spots include: Whickhope Inlet and downstream from Tower Knowe Visitor Centre.
Renowned for its world class fly fishing, Langley Dam Fishery is a wonderful place for any fishing enthusiasts. It hosts a number of different species where you can test your chances of catching a mix of rainbow, brown, tiger and blue trout. The fishery offers ample room for bank fishing or you can hire a boat and head straight out onto the water.
Offering up two stretches of productive water is Warwick Hall on the River Eden. Flowing a massive 84 miles all the way to the Scottish Borders, the river is occupied by many fish including the very popular salmon. There have also been many steps taken and millions spent on improving habitats, removing barriers and fixing broken watercourses within this river. Set in the glorious rolling hills of Northumberland, you can enjoy three different course fishing reservoirs at Whittle Dene. The idyllic spot provides options for those looking for adventure in the grassy banks or a quiet more relaxing time by the water.
A superb river to fish in and is mainly popular for game fishing. The whole Tyne combines to give great fishing opportunities all year round so there’s no need to worry about the season. The perfect peaceful spot if you’re looking for some stillwater fishing. Here, the species you will mostly find is Carp, Bream, Tench and Chub. The peaceful fishery is surrounded by farmland and consists of three stunningly silent lakes.
Located on the right bank of the River Tyne, Bywell fishing can be sure to bring you in some outstanding fish. The water is upstream from Corbridge and is over 2.5 miles long. It is known for its abundance of salmon and has many different fishing opportunities whether you’re looking for waders, boats or banks.
