Hexham House is a beautifully restored Grade II listed building set on the edge of the manicured Hexham Parks and Gardens with views of Hexham Abbey and grounds. This historic building in the heart of Hexham dates back to the early 1700’s and has been recently fully renovated into seven luxury apartments. Each has an individual layout and style and all have high-end fittings and furnishings.

This beautiful, unique building offers a mixture of one and two bedroomed apartments, ideal for small families and couples, the option to stay as a larger group over several apartments and the exclusive hire of all apartments for a larger gathering. This makes it perfect for guests getting married at the stunning Hexham House wedding venue that is adjacent to the apartments.

    Each of Hexham House Apartments benefit from light, airy open plan living and dining spaces with fully equipped kitchens.

    The living areas all have comfortable sofas with co-ordinating soft furnishings and flat screen TV’s offering On demand and digital channels.

    Heating throughout the apartments is provided by energy efficient, thermostatically controlled electric radiators.

  • parking

    Each apartment has a parking permit for one vehicle to be parked at Hexham Abbey Car Park, a one-minute walk away, with an unloading area next to the apartments. All this information is provided with the access instructions before your stay.


  • bedrooms

    Each bedroom has a king size or double bed with luxury mattresses, feather duvets and pillows with co-ordinating throws and cushions.

  • bathrooms

    All bathrooms have modern walk-in showers, WC’s and hand basins with back lit mirrors, shaving points and heated towel rails.

    All bed linen is high quality, crisp white cotton.

Apartment Seven

The jewel in the crown of Hexham House, this stunning penthouse apartment, frequently used as the bridal suite, has plentiful original features, high ceilings, huge windows and is the perfect place to stay for an extra special break.

It’s very spacious kingsized bedroom and large bathroom with roll top bath is enjoyed by many wedding parties. Brides choose to stay the night before their wedding and get ready for their special day in this bright luxurious space and happy couples start their honeymoon and married life here.

Apartment One

Hexham House Apartment One is a light and airy two-bedroomed property split over two floors. It has a very spacious master bedroom  and bathroom and a further double bedroom. The kitchen diner seats six and it has a large comfortable living space. The apartment shares it’s entrance with Apartment Two meaning they can be hired together to create additional space for larger families.

Apartment Two

Hexham House Apartment Two is a cosy one-bedroomed property with a king size bedroom and en-suite, high ceilinged living space and compact kitchen. As it shares it’s entrance with Apartment One it is possible to take both properties and create townhouse style living for larger gatherings. It’s our most accessible apartment with only two steps to the front door.

Apartment Three

Apartment Three offers an ideal space for a family break. It has two bedrooms both with rear facing views towards Hexham Abbey and Sele Park Grounds and a comfortable living, kitchen and dining space to the front of Hexham House.
It is one of the more accessible apartments with only one flights of stairs to the front door.

Apartment Four

Hexham House Apartment Four is a beautiful light and spacious home away from home. It has a stunning kitchen island and open plan living space featuring panelled walls and large windows. It’s spacious king sized bedroom and bathroom with sweeping hallway and original features make it a very luxurious apartment for an extra special break.

Apartment Five

Hexham House Apartment Five is another beautifully positioned, bright apartment with views of Hexham Abbey and Grounds from every window. It features a lovely king size bedroom, modern bathroom with large walk in shower and openplan living and dining space. Ideal for couples wishing to explore Hexham and Northumberland.

Apartment Six

Hexham House Apartment Six benefits from a king size bedroom, compact bathroom and open plan living and dining space. It’s light bright rooms have high ceilings and original wooden floors. The apartment has views to both Hexham Parks and Market Street and is perfect for single travellers or couples wishing to explore our beautiful county.

We had a great stay at Hexham House Apartments. They were lovely and clean and had everything we needed. The view out over the gardens towards the Abbey was lovely too. The beds were really comfortable and linen was luxurious. The free parking was only a couple of mins walk away with further parking available just over the road. Great place to stay when visiting Hexham and we will book again if we come back

terms & conditions

  • All online and telephone bookings are provisional until confirmed in writing by Wooden Star Cottages Ltd.
  • Hexham House has a minimum night stay of two or three nights subject to season.
  • Wooden Star Cottages will pass on to guests, in full, after we have confirmed a booking, all costs or charges the owner makes to us which are connected to your booking.
  • All prices are for the property as a whole and are not a per person basis.
  • A deposit of 30% of the total booking cost is required at the time of the booking being confirmed. The balance to be paid 28 days prior to your stay.
  • Covid Booking Guarantee supercedes standard terms.
  • The owners reserve the right to alter the booking arrangement in the event of unforeseen circumstances, if they do Wooden Star Cottages will contact you on their behalf as soon as possible. If cancellation by the owner is necessary, the monies received shall be returned in full.
  • The property is available from 4pm on day of arrival until 10am on the day of departure.
  • A £25 refundable deposit taken with the balance will be withheld should the parking permit not be returned.
  • Guests shall keep the property and all furniture and fittings in the same state of cleanliness and general order in which it was found and report any damage of breakages before departure and return the parking permit.
  • The owner shall not be liable for any loss or damage to personal property or any injury during your stay.
  • The number of persons using the property shall not exceed the maximum number stated on the property details.
  • In the event of cancellation – the 30% deposit is non-refundable. If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before the date of arrival a charge equal to 50% of the stay will be charged. A no show or reduction in the stay will incur the full amount of the booking.
  • All prices quoted include VAT.
  • All of our properties are smoke free apart from designated areas indicated in the welcome information at the property. Owners reserve the right to make a reasonable charge where guests have contravened this policy.
  • Guests right to occupy the property may be forfeited without compensation if:
  1. Any activity takes place which is deemed illegal or may cause unreasonable damage, noise or disturbance.
  2. Smoking takes place in the property.
  3. More guests than declared at the time of booking take up occupation.
  • The owner or a representative from Wooden Star Cottages Ltd shall be allowed to enter the property at any reasonable time with prior notice or without in the event of an emergency during occupancy by guests.
  • Wooden Star Cottages Ltd have compiled information on our website as accurately as possible at the time of guests booking the property, however facilities may be altered or withdrawn for reasons outside of our control, in which case we cannot accept responsibility. We make every effort to ensure that the property details are accurately reproduced. Guests are advised that if a specific facility is required it should be requested through us prior to your stay. Guests should accept that minor differences between text & photographs on the website and the actual property may arise and Wooden Star Cottages Ltd cannot take responsibility should any of the properties not conform to the guests’ standards or expectation.
  • In the event of there being cause for complaint concerning a property, the matter should be taken up with a representative from Wooden Star Cottages Ltd in the first instance immediately, it is important that this is done while guests are still at the property, so an on-the-spot investigation can by carried out fairly and remedial action taken if required and possible.
  • The booking conditions will apply to all confirmed bookings.
