Introducing our newest property – Beaufront Castle
Beaufront Castle is a stunning Gothic revival style mansion in the heart of the Tyne Valley. Sleeping up to 16 guests and perfect for large groups.
Wedding season is fast approaching, and here at Wooden Star Cottages we’ve been getting in the spirit after Lydia and Duncan selected our stunning Hexham House Apartments to accommodate their wedding party for the weekend.
Thanks to Northumberland’s historic castles, golden sands, endless rolling hills and beautiful market towns, the region regularly tops the list for wedding locations within the UK. In fact, despite a drop in the number of weddings in 2021, marriages registered in Northumberland continued to increase, with couples selecting the area’s tranquil backdrop and stand-out venues to celebrate with their loved ones.
But let’s get back to our lovely pair. Lydia and Duncan had hired out all seven apartments within Hexham House which meant they had exclusive use of the venue. So, to welcome the happy couple and all of their guests, we left a few special touches around the property’s expansive rooms (and of course we included a few bottles of fizz too!)
There are a number of reasons Hexham House is the perfect selection for wedding parties. The house is split up into individual apartments, which means that brides, grooms and nearlyweds can get ready separately with their loved ones, safe in the knowledge that there won’t be any breaking of tradition before the ceremony.
All of Hexham House’s luxury apartments have their own individual high-end style and feature open-plan living and dining spaces. We also welcome guests who are hiring the apartments for exclusive use to come and view the venue beforehand, so that they can allocate rooms before friends and family arrive.
In addition to apartments, there’s also the option to get married within Hexham House itself. The expertly restored building can accommodate up to 70 guests thanks to its two wedding ceremony rooms and on-site registry office. (https://www.mynorthumberlandwedding.co.uk/venue/hexham-house/)
Lydia and Duncan had chosen the equally beautiful Hexham Abbey to hold their wedding ceremony. The Abbey, which is only a short walk away from Hexham House, is a grade 1 listed building that can be traced all the way back to 674 AD.
We were delighted to hear that the couple had the ceremony and day that they’d always dreamed of and are so honoured that our very own Hexham House Apartments played a small part in this.
Once again, a huge congratulations to the newlyweds and thank you for sharing your beautiful photographs and experience with us here at Wooden Star Cottages.
Here are a few more pics of the couple’s special day and feedback from the new Mrs Edwards.
