Couples Retreat
Seal cottage is one of our favourite properties and is based right in the heart of Hexham. It’s just a short walk from the centre of town and is the ideal location for you and your partner to explore the independent shops and modern eateries Hexham has to offer.
After a day exploring, you can return to the cottage to enjoy the cosy decor and modern amenities including a smart TV with streaming services, so there’s no need to fall behind on the latest series you’ve been binge-watching.
The Byres is also a great place to escape to with your significant other. It’s peaceful, full of fresh air and Northumbrian countryside, which is ideal for those couples who love the outdoors. A furry friend is also welcome so there’s no need to leave the other love of your life at home.
Enjoy true peace and tranquillity, while getting away from the busy life at Fieldhead. Standing alone, this one bedroomed property is surrounded by moors and fields with a private wild swimming lake very close by. Feel the stress melt away here as you enjoy each other’s company with no distractions.

Getaways with Friends
Taking time out and catching up with friends is so important, and we know that finding accommodation and booking can be stressful – Especially if you’re the one friend who’s been left to book everything!
Hollin House is one of our bigger properties and can sleep up to 10 guests. It is beautifully decorated (perfect for those insta snaps) and designed to offer a peaceful place for guests to relax. It also holds our Dark Sky Friendly accreditation which means you will have a front row seat to the stunning Northumberland starry sky in all its glory!
The Coach House is another great shout for a friend’s trip away. It sleeps six and has an expansive garden which is made for afternoon cocktails in the summertime. The Coach House is another of our properties that holds the Dark Sky Friendly accreditation which if you’re lucky, means you could even have a glimpse at the Northern Lights! If you’re looking for something more central, then Farriers Cottage is for you. This newly renovated three bedroomed house sleeps six and offers a beautifully designed and calming Scandi-style home in central Hexham within a short stroll to fantastic restaurants, cafes & independent shops.
If you’re looking for a couples getaway then the Bankhouse Mews and Apartment is for you. Booking both properties accommodates eight people which is ideal for those coming away in their couples.
Wedding
Searching for a wedding venue can be quite the task. If you’re looking to have more of an intimate wedding with just a few friends and family, then look no further than Roses Bower.
The whole place is set perfectly for your special day with accommodation and event space sorted all in one. It even includes The Treehouse, a new addition to Roses Bower, which makes for a beautifully unique bridal suite.

Big Birthdays
21st, 30th, 50th or 60th, any big birthday can be properly celebrated at the Shellbraes Farmhouse and Studio. You can book both properties which can sleep up to 12 guests together. It’s a great size to welcome your guests as well as being equipped with a large private garden and the view of the rolling Northumberland hills to just tie everything together.
If you’re wanting to celebrate with a meal and a few drinks before retiring to your lodgings for the night, then Hexham House Apartments sounds like the perfect place for you. Choose from seven apartments to have all your guests come and stay under one roof, while still having all the privacy you could want.
Solo Getaways
If you’re wanting to get away from everything and spend some time in your own company, one of our favourite properties has to be Charlton Gate. This Northumbrian stone house is set within the Newton Estate and surrounded by private gardens and stunning views. Think Kate Winslet’s cottage in The Holiday, a truly cosy stay.
In addition to this, we’d have to recommend Fieldhead once again. While it’s perfect for couples, if you’re wanting to shut off from the world and truly have time with yourself and the stunning surroundings, then this may be the property for you.
