seal cottage

A peaceful resting place in the heart of historic Hexham.

Sleeps 5

Seal Cottage

Seal Cottage is a lovely double-fronted Northumbrian stone-built cottage dating back to 1880.  Spacious, immaculately presented and well equipped it enjoys the benefit of being beside the open expanse of Sele Park where there are views towards the magnificent Hexham Abbey and across the Tyne Valley.

This cottage provides a peaceful resting place in a superb central location for exploring and excellent public transport links mean that it is also a great base for those who wish to explore the region without a car.

An amazing cottage with everything you could need. Beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean. The welcome parcel was a great additional.....allowing for that all important cup of tea on arrival! Hexham is a beautiful little market town with plenty of cafes to grab a coffee in during the day & various places to eat at night. The town is a short stroll through the park at the back of the cottage (10 mins max) & there is a childrens play area located on the park as well. Well worth a visit to the Abbey as well....its stunning!

There is a big Tesco in Hexham as well which is easy to get to and you are very close to the train station; we took a train into Newcastle (40 minutes) for the day and the trains run regularly. Would also recommend going to the Beamish Living Museum.
